Though I am looking forward to summer time, there is still some sadness that for those few months I won’t be able to do the things I have accustomed myself to do throughout the year. I will be far away from people who I see every day and even say goodbye to certain people who I will probably never see again. However, summer is a great time to start fresh. This could range from anything from learning a new language, taking up a new sport, working your way to your goals, self discovery, and of course spending more time with loved ones.
I have to admit that when I am with my family, I spend 60% of that time with an electronic device. I know it’s a horrible habit and I have tried to make efforts, but I just always feel the need to check what other people are doing on Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook etc. So my goals this summer?
Learn Spanish or Russian
Workout 5 times a week
Use electronics less when with family
Read LOTS of books
Improve my blog
I use to love reading, I would buy 6/7 books and finish them all in less than a week. But during these past two years of Uni, I just never take the time to read. Reading is a great source of entertainment and instead of starting a new show, why not start a new book? I have many friends who tell me they hate reading blah blah blah. I use to be the same, until I read a book that I really loved and ever since I have been able to find similar books to entertain me. Reading improves your reading skills (duh), expands your vocabulary, makes you more culture (and interesting), but it also ameliorates your imagination and creativity. So get reading!
